Tattva
Project Overview

Behind the Explorer

Tattva is an advanced biological taxonomy tool designed to bring the hidden hierarchy of the natural world to your fingertips.

What is Taxonomy?

Taxonomy is the science of naming, describing, and classifying living organisms. Every known plant, animal, fungus, and microbe is placed into a hierarchy of categories, from the broadest group — Kingdom — down to the most specific, Species.

This hierarchy, originally developed by Carl Linnaeus, allows scientists and nature enthusiasts to see how different forms of life are related evolutionarily, and provides a universal language (Scientific Names) that bypasses regional language barriers.

Data Sources

Tattva aggregates real-time data to provide accurate, up-to-date scientific classifications.

  • iNaturalist API Provides the core taxonomic tree, organism images, and global observation counts.
  • Wikipedia Open Data Fetches detailed, peer-reviewed summaries for deep-dive biological context.

The Minds Behind Tattva

Ideator & Domain Expert

Sanketh Poojary

1st Year B.Sc. (Microbiology, Biochem, Botany)

The visionary behind Tattva. With a deep passion for the biological sciences and a clear aim to pursue Bioinformatics, Sanketh conceptualized this platform. His foundational knowledge of botany and taxonomy sparked the idea to make nature's hidden hierarchy easily accessible to everyone.

Developer & Tech Mentor

Pratheek

2nd Year B.Sc. (Physics, Math, CS) | Entrepreneur

An entrepreneur and tech enthusiast, Pratheek took Sanketh's brilliant concept and brought it to reality. Leveraging advanced Gemini AI tools, he engineered the platform's architecture and code. Pratheek loves empowering his juniors, using his technical expertise to give Sanketh's ideas the wings to fly.

What's Next

The Tattva Roadmap

As Sanketh progresses toward a career in Bioinformatics and Pratheek continues to build tech solutions, Tattva will evolve alongside them. Here is what we are planning next.

Genomic Data Links

Aligning with future bioinformatics research, we plan to map species to available public genetic sequencing databases.

AI Image Recognition

Implementing machine learning models to allow users to upload a photo of a leaf or insect and instantly get its taxonomy.

Biodiversity Heatmaps

Visualizing global observation data on an interactive map to show where specific species and kingdoms thrive the most.
